Death & Life in Christ: A Sunday Meditation
The devil turns the whole world into death.
But in Christ, death sets us free—and so the world is redeemed.
Everything that once gave me life in the devil now kills me.
What kills me now gives me life.
The heavier the weight of my Cross,
the quicker I die.
And in death, I am saved.
Because all in the world is Good, death must live in me.
But I do not crucify the world, I crucify myself.
As I die, Christ lives in me.
And I witness His Love.
By death, I mean the stripping away of passions,
the removal of the “me” that is not Christ.
For the “me” that is not Christ
is death.
Each day, I pray the Hours of the Cross.
Each week, I walk the Way.
On Sunday, I put off the passions of the week
and rise in the new,
communing with the Lord.
On Monday,
I pick it up again.
