Our Hardened Hearts
Have mercy on those who listen God, for Your voice is but a whisper caught in the undertow of our cries…so faint is the rapping on the doors of our hearts, that its blown away by the wind of our breath, never quite reach our ears to be heard. Our hearts liken the inside of a sound proofed steel fortress, nothing comes in or goes out. We are too proud to listen, and too insecure to speak. So hardened are our hearts. But if we answer the call for just a moment, and step outside ourselves, we would see You knocking, and weeping, flooding the ocean of our soul with the tears of Your love. So much is the love that You fill us with. But we lock You outside. If only we softened the walls of our hearts, we would hear the knocking and let You in, and our dried up hearts would be flooded with Your love.
