The Theory of Everything is a combination of truths that explain existence and its purpose. It is inspired by one observation and belief: that humanity is suffering at the mercy of chronic existential uncertainty and can be saved. The theory itself is the corresponding solution––a theory that explains everything about existence. Rather than explaining everything in existence, the primary concern is explaining ‘Why’. This is because the unanswered ‘Why’ is the prevailing cause of uncertainty. When ‘How’ or ‘What’ is answered but not ‘Why’, uncertainty inevitably remains. When the reverse is explored, and ‘Why’ is answered despite the status of ‘How’ or ‘What’, the uncertainty is satisfied. The reason is, ‘How’ and ‘What’ are objectively satisfied by observations. The required depth of the observation is a subjective matter, albeit an answer that satisfies the question. ‘Why’ on the other hand is only satisfied by irrefutable truth and understanding. If ‘Why’ is answered with anything but the truth, uncertainty remains. Drawing from Plato’s Ladder of Intelligibility for an explanation, Understanding is placed higher on the ladder than Thought and Imagination. Therefore, the answer to ‘Why’ is superior in addressing uncertainty. Hence, the Theory of Everything, the ultimate truths of reality used to explain the purpose of existence. With this understanding, we can know exactly what we’re supposed to be doing with our lives.
